Jean McCray, 88, of Battle Ground, Washington, died May 29, 2010. She was born in National, Washington, March 15, 1922, to Lester and Neva Townsend.
Jean married George J. McCray Sr., January 6, 1940, and they were married 50 years until his death December 15, 1990.
The couple moved to Yacolt, WA in 1955. Jean began work as a bookkeeper in 1966 at First Independent Bank. In 1977, she and her husband moved to Buckly, WA. She then worked at Cascade Security Bank, from which she retired in 1988. In 1990 they moved back to Yacolt.
Jean was a life member at Henry Wentworth Chapter, Order of Eastern Star in Vancouver, WA. She enjoyed family, friends and gardening.
She is survived by her son, George "Butch" McCray Jr., Yacolt; twin sister, Jeanette Bonville, Apex, North Carolina; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Patricia Ashley; and sister, Dorothy Nordstrom.
Internment at Enumclaw, WA. No service is being held. Memorial contributions may be made to a Hospice organization.
