BOARDMAN –Stephen J. Begalla, 52, passed away unexpectedly at his residence Wednesday July 1, 2009.
Stephen J. Begalla was born July 23, 1956 in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) the son of Stephen J. and Eleanore E. Ekoniak Begalla.
Stephen was a 1974 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and received his associate degree in accounting from Youngstown State University.
Stephen worked in the Youngstown Public School System as a teachers aide with the Department of Special Education.
He served on the Boardman Township Fire Department for the past 18 years.
He was a member of St. Matthias Church in Youngstown, Ohio.
Stephen leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Diana L. Mauch, whom he married Oct. 12, 2002; his father, Stephen Begalla of Pulaski, Pa., stepfather, William Agnes Janosko of Austintown; a sister, Michele Dennis Minotti of Columbus,OH; a niece, Jennifer Justin Viau of Columbus, OH; a nephew, Dr. Dennis Brooke Minotti D.O. of Southlake, Texas
Stephen was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanore E. Janosko and grandparents, Agnes and Michael Ekoniak and Anna and Stephen Begalla.
The family will be receiving friends Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home, Boardman-Canfield Chapel.
