Valeria Capps (1930 - 2015)
Obituary

Mrs. Valeria Capps of Panama City, Fla., went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, November 7, 2015. She was born on December 2, 1930.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Houston Capps; parents, Henry Brady and Nettie Mills; brothers, Raymond, Ralph, Vaughntaze, Ewell, Bud and Wallace Mills; and son-in-law, Billy Cooper.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Cooper, Dianne Hicks (Mike); son, David Capps; grandchildren, Christina DeClerk, Karrie Register (Mark), Charles Cooper, Casey Cooper (Missy) and Ashley Capps; great-grandchildren, Joshua Hicks, Jessica DeClerk, Jaelyn DeClerk, James Michael DeClerk, Julia Cress, Matthew Register, Malissa Cooper, Wyatt Cooper and John Cooper; brothers, Dooley Mills, Paul Mills (Val), Frankie Mills (Carol); and sister, Nina Pitts (Horace).

She was retired from the Bay County School System after serving in the lunchroom at Hiland Park Elementary School. Prior to that, she had her "Baby Nursery" at her home where she loved and cared for many children, leaving many to remember her with affection as Mama Capps.

She was loved by her church family throughout the years, leaving many to remember her as Sister Capps.

Proverbs 25:11, "A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver." She had a special gift of saying the right thing to people that was just what they needed to hear. It was an extraordinary gift that made her who she was.

Apart from Jesus, she thought children were God's greatest gift. Looking at each newborn that came into the family, she would say, "I believe that's the most beautiful baby I've ever seen." She lived a sacrificial life dedicated to her children and family. She was loved and will be missed by many.

A visitation will be held from 11:30-12:30 p.m., Friday, November 13, 2015 at Heritage Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Garden of Memories, 4035 E 15th Street, Panama City, Fla 32404.
