William Lindsay Sanders was born Sep. 26, 1881, to Henry Layfayette Sanders and Mary Melvina Slaughter in Burnet, Texas. When he was 19, He married Ollie Mae Wells,daughter of George W Wells and Mary Melvina Beal, on 13 Sep 1901 in Brownwood, Brown, Texas, USA (12 children).

Funeral services for William Lindsay Sanders., 83, of 3208 North Twenty-fifth Street will be at 4 pm in Saturday in Connally Funeral Chapel. Rev. Wallace Philpot will officiate. Burial will he in Waco Memorial Park.
Mr. Sanders died 5:45 p m Wednesday in Waco hospital
Mr. Sanders had lived in Waco since 1937. He had been engaged in the oil and real estate business.
Survivors are eight daughters, Mrs. Richard (Grace) Forde of Waco, Mrs. Pearl Morgan of 3208 North Twenty-fifth Street, Mrs. A. C. (Era) Devenport and Mrs., Amber Daniel, both of Bonham, Mrs. Alton (Betty) Tynes, Jr of 1421 Park Avenue, Mrs. Herman (Nina) Groth of 3513 Live Oak Avenue, Mrs. E. E (Nellie) Elin of Houston and Mrs. A.L. (Myrtle) Burrow of Arlington; three sons, Raymond H. Sanders of Houston, W. L. Sanders of Austin and Bruce Sanders of Baytown; four brothers, O.M. Sanders of Valley Mills, Lee Sanders, Boss Sanders and Sam Sanders, all of Temple; 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
