Nellie was born on Nov. 28, 1918 in Healdton, Carter, Oklahoma to William Lindsay Sanders and Ollie Mae Wells. She married Ernest Edward Elin on April 8, 1939, in Waco, Texas. She is survived by her son, Ernest Edward Elin, Jr.; brother Bruce Gordon Sanders; sisters, Nina Jean Sanders Groth, Betty Fay Sanders Tynes, Myrtle Norene Sanders Burrow; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nellie Onita Sanders Elin was born Nov 28,1918 in Oklahoma where her father was stationed during World War I. Her parents were William Lindsay Sanders and Ollie Mae Wells. She had 11 Brothers and sisters. She was married to Ernest Edward Elin in Marlin, Texas. They met in Waco, Texas and secretly got married until her parents found out. She worked at a café that her sister Toodly ran in Waco and then in San Antonio in about 1941. Ernest and Nellie moved to Houston, Texas and lived in the Heights area. Nellie and Edward have 1 son.
