Eddie D. Luzik

HARRISBURG, PA. – Eddie D. Luzik, 91, formerly of Youngstown, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, in Fleetwood, Pa.

Born May 14, 1926, in Youngstown, he was the son of the late Jacob and Mary (Stretafsky) Luzik.

His wife of 38 years, Nena (Sokolosky) Luzik, passed away on Jan. 2, 1990.

Eddie was a longtime carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Union in Harrisburg for many years. He was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Youngstown and the Steelton-Swatara Lodge No. 775 F&AM in Oberlin-Steelton, Pa.

Eddie graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Youngstown in 1945.
He served his country honorably and faithfully in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was an accomplished oil painter, loved playing golf and figure skating, and truly enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.

Eddie is survived by his two children, Dr. Eddie D. Luzik Jr., husband of Cynthia A. (Shea) Luzik, of West Haven, Conn. and Nena Luzik-O’Keefe of Fleetwood, Pa.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Piper, Ian and Phoebe; and his brother, Jack Luzik of Youngstown.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Joseph; and his sister, Betty.

A memorial Liturgy will be held at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Youngstown at a later date. The date and time of service will be announced.

Burial will take place at Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
