WARREN,OH - Richard D. Begalla, 77, passed away Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at 10:53 a.m. in his home.
Richard was born on Dec. 27, 1940, in Warren, Ohio the son of the late John J. and Rosalia “Rose” Beca Begalla and was a lifelong area resident.
A Warren G. Harding High School graduate, Richard attended a year of college before enlisting into the U.S. Army on Jan. 18, 1962 and served during the Vietnam War. He was an expert sharpshooter and was awarded a Letter of Appreciation and Good Conduct Medal before being discharged on Jan. 17, 1964.
Richard was employed with Packard Electric for 25 years. He worked many jobs for Packard and retired in 1994, as a stock clerk.
He enjoyed watching television, reading and working on the computer.
Richard was a lifelong member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren.
Richard was married on Oct. 16, 1963, to the former Georgia A. Julian, and she survives along with three children, James (fiancée Lisa Clark) Begalla of Champion; Phillip (Danielle) Begalla of North Ridgeville,OH and Rose Begalla of Cleveland, OOH; and seven grandchildren, Alexa, Michael, Marissa, Gregory, Christian, Barbara Rose and Jason.
Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a brother, John R. “Jack” Begalla.
Memorial calling hours will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, from 6. until 8 p.m. at the Sinchak & Kaszowski Funeral Home, 727 E. Market St. in Warren.
A Parastas service with Fr. Simeon B. Sibenik officiating, will be recited at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at the funeral home, where family will receive friends from 10 until 10:25 a.m. Wednesday.
Inurnment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park in Warren, OH.
