Michael Charles Uhrain III

BRISTOLVILLE – Michael “Mike” Charles Uhrain III died Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at his home at the age of 69.
Michael was born Jan. 19, 1947, in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Michael C. Uhrain Jr. and Anne Lipka. Michael graduated from Boardman, Ohio High School and served in the Vietnam conflict at the age of 19, from October of 1966 to July of 1968.
He was a sergeant E5 Combat Engineer and was attached to both the 4th and 25th Infantry Divisions.
Commendations he received included the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal, RVN Gall Cross Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device.
Mike was presented with a Purple Heart Quilt at the Trumbull County Fair on July 4, 2011. He belonged to Trumbull County Chapter 11 Disabled American Veterans and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was also a member of the First Christian Church of Newton Falls where he served as a deacon.

He retired from Delphi Packard Electric in 2007 after 22 years as a tool and die maker. Michael enjoyed traveling, camping, grilling and spending time with his family
Michael will be sadly missed by his wife, RoxAnne (Webb) Uhrain, whom he married March 18, 1988; three sons, Michael (Chiharu) Uhrain IV, Shane (Gabriella) Uhrain, and Cody Uhrain; his daughter, Michelle (Brian) Chaffin; and two brothers, Edward (Mary) Uhrain and Frank Uhrain. Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John (Angie) Uhrain.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 5, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the James Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio following military services.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Michael’s name to the Trumbull County Chapter 11 Disabled American Veterans. Arrangements have been entrusted to the James Funeral Home, 8 E. Broad St. in Newton Falls, OH
