MANSFIELD: Louis Tony Sazdanoff, 87, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 30, 2017, at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield.
He was born August 21, 1929, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Tony and Luba Sazdanoff.
Louie graduated from Mansfield Senior High and was a veteran of the US Navy.
He and his brother, John Sazdanoff, were owner operators of the Dailey Bar for over 40 years. Louie was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed watching baseball over the years. Gardening was a favorite pastime.
A family man in the deepest sense of the word, he enjoyed his Macedonian heritage and loved nothing better than celebrating family events with lots of traditional music and food. He especially enjoyed the annual Christmas Eve party with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Mellanovich Sazdanoff; three sons, Dr. Ted (Heidi) Sazdanoff of Mansfield, Mike (Catherine) Sazdanoff of Lake Forest, IL, and Don (Henrietta) Sazdanoff of Mansfield; nine grandchildren, Jon (Ashley), Nick (Katie), Chris (Megan), Greg (Kelsey), Elizabeth, Mathew, Isabelle, Alexandra, and Mike; four great-grandchildren, Lilly, Adella, Haydon, and Theodore; a brother, John (Mildred) Sazdanoff; a sister, Theresa Mitroff; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Louie is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Helen, Rosie, Daisy, Anna and Maryellen.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2017, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in Mansfield Cemetery.
