Randy M. Petrock

POLAND, Ohio - Randy M. Petrock, 69.
Randy passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 surrounded by his loving family, following a year-long, courageous battle with cancer.
Randy was born June 30, 1947, in Lowellville, Ohio,the son of Michael Petrock and Jennie (Mangine) Petrock. Randy was a 1965 Graduate of Lowellville High School and attended Youngstown State University until his draft into the U.S. Army.
He served in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division.
He was employed for 35 years at General Motors, retiring in 2006.
After retirement, Randy worked at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home and Youngstown Country Club.
He was also co-owner along with his wife, of Visage Hair Salon.
Randy was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 247 in Lowellville for 41 years, a long-time member of the Lowellville Mt. Carmel Society, and the Pacentrano Club where he served as recording secretary for 25 years.
He enjoyed his time with his precious grandchildren, working in his garden, and going out for coffee with friends.
He proudly carried the American flag at all of the parades and functions attended by the American Legion.
Randy faithfully donated blood to the Red Cross for over 40 years knowing that this small effort would help someone in need.
Randy donated countless hours of his time in volunteering at the Rescue Mission, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Dorothy Day House.
Randy will be remembered by the love of his life of 40 years, Tonina (Restaino) whom he married Sept. 25, 1976; his two daughters, Jennifer (David) Raspanti and Kristen (Chuck) Cormell; five beautiful grandchildren whom he adored, Vincent and Luca Raspanti and Alexander, Aiden, and Mckenzie Cormell; and his parents-in-law, Gemma and Pasquale Restaino.
Besides his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his grandson, Nathan Raspanti; and his step-father, Dominic Romeo.
Friends may call on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman. Randy will be laid to rest at Lake Park Cemetery where his faithful service to our country will be further recognized with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post No. 247 of Lowellville.
